Summary: This project is providing instruction in theoretical knowledge and practice skills necessary for social work practice with children and adolescents who have sexual behavior problems.

Products: The teaching manual will consist of 8 teaching modules that can be used in the classroom or in a field setting by field instructors. Knowledge and skill areas for the teaching modules are:

1) Effects of child sexual abuse;
2) Identification of characteristics of sexually abusive youth and their families;
3) Sexual development;
4) Assessment of sexually abusive youth;
5) Individual intervention strategies;
6) Family intervention strategies (including foster families);
7) Culture and diversity;
8) Conscious use of self. The project will produce a syllabus, handouts, and a bibliography of research literature and treatment resources.
