Title Improving Educational Services for Foster Youth Living in Group Homes: An Analysis of Interagency Collaboration

Project Goal: To examine the barriers that foster youth newly placed in group homes face while receiving timely and appropriate educational services, and to observe the way that the various systems support the educational needs of foster youth.

Project Outcomes: Curriculum: "Improving Educational Services for Foster Youth Living in Group Homes: An Analysis of Interagency Collaboration" developed by Jill Duerr Berrick and Robert H. Ayasse. The purpose of this curriculum is to heighten the awareness and increase knowledge of child welfare workers, foster care providers, and school staff regarding the educational needs of foster children and to develop specific skills to address those needs and smooth the transition to new school environments.
