CalSWEC’s Child Welfare Program supports future social workers through the Title IV-E Child Welfare Training Program and current social workers through training and education offered by the In-Service Training Coordination Project.
The Title IV-E Child Welfare Training Program provides professional education and student support through its Title IV-E Stipend Program to graduate and undergraduate social work students preparing for the field of public child welfare. The program also supports the development of Curriculum Competencies for Public Child Welfare and Child Welfare Education Curriculum Resources.
CalSWEC coordinates statewide training in collaboration with our partners. Projects include the California Common Core Curricula, the Statewide Training and Education Committee, and development of training materials for statewide initiatives such as Fostering Connections After 18/AB 12.
