Deadline Extended to Feb. 28 for 2014 Research Award for MSW Students

Update: Submissions for the 2014 Research Award for MSW Students are no longer being accepted. CalSWEC and the California Association of Deans and Directors are currently reviewing all the proposals, and 10 finalists will be notified upon completion of the review.

MSW students are encouraged to apply for the 2014 Research Award, established by CalSWEC’s Research and Development (R&D) Committee, in conjunction with the California Association of Deans and Directors (CADD), to encourage and support student research that will contribute to the evidence base for policy and practice in public human services.

February 28, 2014, is the new deadline for submissions for the Research Award for MSW Students.

The following, broad eligibility requirements apply:

  • MSW students in accredited social work or social welfare programs in California are eligible to submit proposals. They do not have to be a CalSWEC Title IV-E Child Welfare or Mental Health Program stipend recipient to apply.
  • Proposals may be submitted by individual students or by students working together in teams. Any award for a team research project will be shared by the team members.
  • Research faculty and agency supervisors must approve the projects, and they must sign the application.
