Distance Ed Specialist Mauricio Wright Joins Child Welfare In-Service Training Project

“CalSWEC is pleased to welcome Mauricio Wright to our team as our new distance education specialist,” announced Melissa Connelly, director of the Child Welfare In-Service Training Project.

Mr. Wright comes to CalSWEC from the Berkeley Resource Center for Online Education (BRCOE), where he served as a production specialist and course builder for online learning. He also served on BRCOE's Learning Management System selection committee and worked to streamline workflow for multimedia distribution. Mr. Wright has a degree in cinematography and a background in video production.

As staff of the Child Welfare In-Service Training Project, Mr. Wright will be working on the Common Core 3.0 project to ensure e-learning accessibility for all regions and all counties and to develop e-learning modules, Ms. Connelly noted. He will also work on the Quality Parenting Initiative (QPI) team to assist with building the library of Just-in-Time training resources for foster parents in California.
