Family Engagement in Case Planning and Case Management (Version 2.3)
This curriculum trains social workers on a participatory case planning process that emphasizes family engagement; specific achievable, relevant, and timely objectives; and extensive exploration of family strengths and resources. The case planning process is linked to addressing safety and risk factors as well as permanence and well-being.
California Common Core Curricula are updated on an ongoing basis. Beginning with Version 1.0, minor revisions are indicated as Versions 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. Major revisions begin with Version 2.0, followed by 2.1, 2.2, etc. NOTE: The versions posted on this website are the most current versions available.
The training materials are divided into two main sections: the Trainer’s Guide and the Trainee’s Guide. The Trainer’s Guide includes tips and guidance for the trainer to structure and prepare for the training. The guides are available by individual components.
If you have difficulty accessing or printing any documents, please contact Melissa Connelly, Training and Curriclum Specialist, or Phyllis Jeroslow, Training and Curriclum Specialist, at CalSWEC.
