Jennifer Cannell Joins Child Welfare In-Service Training Project

Jennifer Cannell is joining CalSWEC’s Child Welfare In-Service Training Project as a training and curriculum specialist.

In announcing Ms. Cannell’s appointment, In-Service Training Project Director Melissa Connelly said, “Jennifer comes with a wealth of experience in direct practice and with the training system in California, including 8 years with Bay Area Academy.”

At the Bay Area Academy, Ms. Cannell worked closely with CalSWEC on the Common Core 3.0 project, the California Child Welfare Core Practice Model, the Statewide Training and Education Committee, the Macro Evaluation Team, and Katie A. “We're excited that she'll be able to share her depth of knowledge on these efforts,” noted Ms. Connelly.

In her position with CalSWEC’s Child Welfare In-Service Training Project, Ms. Cannell will be responsible for Common Core 3.0 development and implementation, the California Child Welfare Core Practice Model, and other child welfare training projects.

Her appointment is effective February 1, 2015, but Ms. Cannell will remain affiliated with Bay Area Academy throughout that month to support a smooth transition.
