NHSTEC (National Human Services Training Evaluation Collaborative)

CalSWEC has convened national experts in human services training evaluation regularly since 1998 to build knowledge in this emergent field. Members of the National Human Services Training Evaluation Collaborative participate in the annual National Human Services Training Evaluation Symposia and are part of the National Training Evaluation listserv.

National Human Services Training Evaluation Symposium (NHSTES)

CalSWEC has co-sponsored and hosted the National Human Services Training Evaluation Symposium (NHSTES) annually in Berkeley since in 1998. In 2011, the symposium was held outside California for the first time, in Ithaca, New York, when Cornell University was the co-host. In 2013, the co-host was the University of Pittsburgh.

The symposium provides a unique environment for national and international training evaluators in the human services to discuss emerging issues that they face in their work and to strategize about how to move the field forward. CalSWEC's coordinating partners are allocated specific slots so that they can actively participate in and benefit from the discussions.

CalSWEC co-sponsors the National Human Services Training Evaluation Symposium with the California Department of Social Services and the National Staff Development and Training Association of the American Public Human Services Association.

As an outgrowth of the desire for human service training evaluation professionals to maintain contact and move the field forward in between annual symposia, CalSWEC has begun to host webinars on various topics pertinent to human services training evaluation.  Links to recorded webinars (and relevant documents) can be found here:
