Rose Chahla Joins Title IV-E Stipend Program

Rose Chahla has joined CalSWEC’s Title IV-E Stipend Program as a project manager. “Rose comes to us with rich experience in educational administration, program and project management, conflict resolution, counseling supervision, and human services research,” announced program Director Carolyn Shin. “We’re pleased to welcome her to our team.”  Ms. Chahla’s appointment is effective March 14.

Ms. Chahla most recently was Program Director and Manager of Employment Services for Upwardly Global, a national nonprofit focused on the workforce development and integration of immigrant and refugees. Previously, she held teaching, research, and counseling positions at the University of Minnesota, where she earned her Master’s in Educational Psychology.

The Title IV-E Stipend Program provides professional education and support to graduate and undergraduate social work students preparing for the field of public child welfare. The program also supports the development of Curriculum Competencies for Public Child Welfare and child welfare education curriculum resources.

As a project manager, Ms. Chahla will be involved in curricular and program implementation and evaluation with a statewide collaborative of the state’s 22 graduate schools of social work, county child welfare agencies, and the California Department of Social Services that focuses on serving the public child welfare system.
