Statewide Distributed Learning Symposium Focuses on Educational Technologies in Social Work Education and Training

CalSWEC will host the Social Work Distributed Learning Symposium focusing on the use of educational technologies in social work education and training on Friday, March 16, on the California State University, Fresno campus.

It invites its partners from universities, the Regional Training Academies, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), and the California Welfare Directors Association (CWDA) to participate in the free all-day symposium. Interested persons also have the option to participate via webinar.

Faculty, staff, and trainers from universities and regional training organizations throughout California and the country will present on such topics as:

  • transforming courses to be taught in a distance learning environment;
  • creating a campus culture for faculty, staff, and students that supports online learning;
  • creating community among distance learning students;
  • using electronic portfolios to track and assess student learning; and
  • how e-learning software and systems are being used for continuing education.
