Training

Overview

Training materials include sharable curricula prepared and provided courtesy of the counties or Regional Training Academies (RTA). Curricula materials provided were vetted through the CSEC workgroup.

Materials are posted as a package in effort to assist the RTAs, community colleges, and other contractors in the development of CSEC 101 training. Shareable curricula packages highlight the addressed learning objectives as trainings will be standardized at the learning objective level and no formal CSEC 101 curriculum will be endorsed.

CSEC 101

UPDATED: The CSEC awareness module includes three components: a pre-assessment, informative module and post-assessment.  At the end of the module you are welcome to generate and print your certificate of completion for your records.  Please note that this module will not retain any identifying information within a database, so if you fail to print your certificate of completion there will be no other record of your participation.

CSEC 102

The CSEC 102 training content below includes a classroom training for social workers and probation officers and content for a convening of multi-disciplinary team members who will be working together in support of youth who have been commercially sexually exploited.

The classroom training will provide participants with an opportunity to learn and practice engagement skills to more effectively work with children and youth who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation.  The training uses scaffolding techniques, interactive discussion, and skill practice exercises to help adult learners integrate knowledge and skills and transfer learning into their practice.

Participants will learn strategies to:

  • Engage commercially sexually exploited children and youth and
  • Increase receptivity to services among children and youth who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation.

The target audience for this training is child welfare social workers and probation officers working with commercially sexually exploited children and youth. CSEC 101 is a prerequisite to CSEC 102.

The MDT convening  materials provide a framework for the facilitation of a convening to allow counties to bring together multi-disciplinary team members who will be working together to serve youth who have been commercially sexually exploited.   The guide offers the facilitator an agenda, group activities for the MDT members, and background information about the requirements for MDTs.
