Evaluation Tools

OVERVIEW

Evaluation Tools are tools that can be used to gauge Team Decision Making (TDM) success. The utilization of standardized instruments is one way assess implementation. Instruments may include:

  • methods for collecting baseline data,
  • methods for administering surveys,
  • methods for conducting observations, and
  • methods for analyzing data.

Both qualitative and quantitative procedures may be used to evaluate implementation of initiatives, programs, or interventions.


COST ANALYSIS

It may be wise to conduct a cost analysis before, during and after implementation of a new program, project or initiative to gain a better understanding of the total costs associated with program implementation.  The Children's Bureau provides short resource videos describing what a cost analysis is and why they are important.  They provide useful concepts associated with cost analysis, budgting and accounting.  The videos Cost Analysis in Program Evaluation (Part 1) and (Part 2) are available on the Children's Bureau website.

Users can use these documents to help put together an evaluation framework for TDM meetings:

  2. Key Elements Score Card - An assessment card that can be used to track when and how TDM meetings are held.
  3. Satisfaction Survey - English version

  5. TDM Facilitator Measures of Performance - A document that provides the expectations and tasks for TDM facilitators, it can be translated into something that tracks TDM facilitators performance for the measures provided.
  6. TDM Indicators and Outcomes  - Suggests posible child and family outcomes that result from increased participatory TDM meetings.
  7. TDM Supervisor Measures of Performance - A document that provides the expectations and tasks for supervisors, it can be translated into something that tracks supervisors performance for the measures provided.
