The WHO Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities (GNAFCC) was established to foster the exchange of experience and mutual learning between cities and communities worldwide. Evidence Database on Aging Care

Welcome to the Social Work Leadership Institute (SWLI) Evidence Database on Aging Care (EDAC). We created this online database to help scholars, policy analysts, and advocates stay on top of the latest research and innovations in aging care, including health care and social services.

SWLI populates the evidence database with published studies and articles that inform and advance policy discussions regarding aging care and the role of social workers. Policy topics are identified by the Advisory Committee, with 2 topics currently identified. The 2 topics that populate the database are Social Work Intervention Effectiveness and Outcomes of Care Coordination for Older Adults.

The database is intended to serve an internal function for the Social Work Leadership Institute and affiliated partners but may be utilized as a resource for users outside of NYAM that are also engaged in policy advocacy for social work or other related types of psychosocial interventions for older adults. The database is restricted to published articles reporting the results of empirical research studies.

Geriatric Cardiology & Council on Cardiovascular Care for Older Adults: Cardio Source

The Essentials of Cardiovascular Care in Older Adults (ECCOA) curriculum is available to ACC Fellows in Training on CardioSource.org as part of the ACC In-Service (ACCIS). ECCOA is a case-based learning curriculum, funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation, spanning topics including pharmacology, physiology, syncope, heart failure, and prevention. The curriculum was developed in response to national mandates to improve the understanding and care of older adults put forth in ACGME post-graduate training guidelines and Cardiology Fellowship Guidelines. This online education program also uses pre- and post-tests to enable trainees and program directors to track progress. Drs. Karen Alexander, Susan Zieman, Andrew Miller, and Michael Rich were ECCOA’s principal organizers, and the program will continue to evolve in new directions under the auspices of CCCOA with objectives to provide the entire ACC membership and allied caregivers access to this content.
