Programs and Services

CalSWEC's activities reflect its Mission.

CalSWEC’s work is informed by a diverse body of university, county government, advocacy, and community representatives who share mutual interests, goals, and concerns related to social work education, workforce development, in-service training, and research and evaluation.

CalSWEC’s original focus was on child welfare, but with the expanding need for professional social workers in other fields, our scope has broadened to include integrated behavioral health and aging.

Today, CalSWEC serves current and future social workers in these practice areas by enhancing social work education, coordinating student training and support, providing professional in-service training, and engaging in workforce evaluation projects that measure projected workforce needs and the effectiveness of workforce development efforts.
